Cho’gall Gameplay Video
BlizzCon 2015 attendees and online viewers were greeted with ownership of Cho’gall, the new addition to Heroes of the Storm. Hailing from Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness and World of Warcraft, Cho’gall is the first hero that requires two players.
Each player chooses which ogre-head to control and each has unique abilities and talents. Only BlizzCon 2015 attendees/viewers had Cho’gall when it entered the Nexus yesterday. However, Non-attendees/viewers can get ahold of him by winning 2 games with whoever has Cho’gall.
Out of ignorance, I played like 6 games with my first Cho’gall donation to one of our twitter followers. Yea, lost 4 games. Turns out all you need to do is to create a “versus AI” game. Then click the checkbox A.I. Teammates (at the bottom-left).
Set PLAY to Versus AI. Win 2 games. Cash in. (Note: It won’t work in Custom Games. Make sure it is Versus A.I.)
Note: If that doesn’t work, it was hotfix after the posting of this article.
When choosing a hero, choose Cho or Gall. You will see two Cho’gall models in the hero selection. Don’t freak out. That’s how it should be. One model is leaning on Cho’s angle, and the other one on Gall’s angle.
The one who chooses Cho will be the one moving the hero around on the battlefield. Gall is more like a permanent Abathur hat on Cho being a passenger. Both players do share a spell interaction. Cho throws a Rune Bomb that rolls across the battlefield. Gall has to press the Runic Blast button to activate the Rune Bomb’s explosion and coordinate when to explode it.
Overall, Cho’gall is a lot of fun as either head, and you can hear them talk funny. In addition, Cho activates Z to carry a mount (rather than mount it), but Gall can also press Z to run faster for a couple of seconds — which mimics his crazed fast walk in Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness when under the influence of Bloodlust.
Cho’gall has a lot of Health, but don’t get too cocky. He isn’t infallible, especially if stunned or slowed down.
