Heroes of the Storm – Tassadar (Ranged Support)



An Executor without equal, Tassadar has fought tirelessly to purify the Koprulu sector of the zerg infestation. Only now, after learning to wield the shadowy powers of the void, is Tassadar finally ready to face the Overmind and its all-consuming Swarm.


Tassadar fills the role of a Ranged Support in Heroes of the Storm. Among his duties in the field is to grant a temporary shield to an ally, detect nearby enemies, and manipulate the battleground for his team.

The description offered in-game sets Tassadar as Very Hard to play.

I have used Tassadar in a couple different ways. Either I stick around with other players to help them mitigate damage taken, give my allies a larger view range of where the enemy is, or I can instead focus on killing mercenaries while my team is keeping the enemy team distracted.


heroes-tassadar-frameTassadar is a protoss of the Templar caste who oversaw and protected the lesser races, or executed them when required or commanded to do so.

His fascination for the Terran race was absolute, even leading him to disobey extreme orders from Aldaris and the protoss conclave.

Tassadar set flame to planet Mar Sara in order to purify it from the zerg infestation.

After desobeying a direct order from the conclave, Tassadar went rogue and befriended ex-Marshal Jim Raynor and the dark templar Zeratul.

Although, the dark templar were perceived as heretics by the templars, Tassadar listened to Zeratul’s side of the story, and even learned the way of the dark templar.

Using his new found hybrid philosophies of both sides of the templar, Tassadar sacrificed by concentrating all of his psionic might against the zerg Overmind.

Tassadar claimed he hasn’t tasted death nor will he, meaning he has trascended the mortal realm into a mysterious psionic or ethereal state — communicating from the beyond.

Tassadar communicated with Zeratul at the site of the Overmind’s demise in planet Aiur to reveal the Overmind’s master plan and warned him of impending doom with the rise of the hybrids. That Kerrigan was the Overmind’s way to prevent the coming oblivion to be caused by the dark voice: Amon. (as seen in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty).


Basic Abilities

The two abilities most used are Protective Shield and Time Warp.


Protective Shield (Q)Shields target ally, absorbing 240 damage before breaking. Lasts for 8 seconds. Mana: 60. Cooldown: 6 seconds.
Time Warp (W)Deals 32 damage per second to enemies in target area and slows Attack and Movement speeds by 35%. Lasts 4 seconds.

Area of Effect
Cooldown 12 sec.
Void Shift (E)Become temporarily invulnerable and invisible.

Mana: 75
Cooldown: 20 seconds.
Oracle (D)Activate to greatly increase vision radius and detect enemy Heroes.




When the game begins, at level 1 the hero is given a choice to pick one out of four Talents . At each scheduled Level, you can pick an extra talent from a pool of 2-4 choices.

Level 1

regeneration-masterRegeneration Master: Gather 3 Regeneration Globes to permanently grant you +3 health per second. Stacks.
path-of-the-wizardPath of the Wizard: Your Hero gains an extra 5 Mana and 0.2 Mana Regen for every level gained.
time-riftTime Rift (W): Increases the damage by 25%.
healing-wardHealing Ward: Place on the ground to heal allies in an area for 2% of their max Health every second for 10 seconds.

Level 4

focused-attackFocused Attack: Every 5 seconds, your next Basic Attack deals 30% additional damage.
space-jumpSpace Jump (W): Allies that enter your Time Warp gain 20% Move Speed for 2 seconds.
reinforce-structureReinforce Structure (Q): Protective Shield is 100% stronger and lasts 100% longer when cast on structures.
promotePromote: Give target allied lane minion +200% permanent health and +100% permanent damage.

Level 7

battle-momentumBattle Momentum: Basic Attacks reduce your ability cooldowns by 0.5 seconds.
khalas-embraceKhala's Embrace (Q): If Protective Shield expires, 50% of the shield remains indefinitely.
searing-attacksSearing Attacks: Activate to increase Basic Attack damage by 50% for 5 seconds. Attacks cost 20 Mana per hit.
calldown-muleCalldown: MULE: Repairs the target structure, granting it health and ammo over 30 seconds.

Level 10

twilight-messiahTwilight Messiah (R): Tassadar gains a 610 point Shield, his Basic Attacks deal 234 damage, and his Basic Attacks splash for 117 additional damage. Lasts for 15 seconds.

Duration: 15 seconds
force-wallForce Wall (R): Creates a force wall that blocks pathing.

Cooldown: 12 seconds
Duration: 3 seconds

Level 13

spell-shieldSpell Shield: Periodically reduces the damage received from Hero Abilities by 50%. Stores up to 2 charges.
distortion-beamDistortion Beam: Basic Attacks slow enemies by 25% for 1.5 seconds.
scryerScryer (Trait): Oracle lasts 3 seconds longer and grants 15% increased movement speed.
shrink-rayShrink Ray: Activate to reduce an enemy Hero's damage by 50% and Movement Speed by 50% for 4 seconds.

Level 16

presciencePrescience (E): Void Shift will automatically activate after Tassadar falls below 15% life. This effect has a 60 seconds cooldown.

dimensional-shiftDimensional Shift (E): Move 50% faster and heal for 680 while Void Shifted.
rewindRewind: Activate to reduce the cooldown of your Basic Abilities by 10 seconds.
berserkBerserk: Activate to increase your Attack Speed by 50% and Movement Speed by 10% for 4 seconds.

Level 20

resurgence-of-the-stormResurgence of the Storm: Upon dying, revive back at your Altar after 5 seconds. This can occur once every 120 seconds.
fury-of-the-stormFury of the Storm: Basic Attacks bounce twice to nearby enemies for 50% damage.
shadow-messiahShadow Messiah (R): Increases damage in Twilight Messiah form by 25% and increases attack range by 3.

Hero Quests

Basic Hero Quests

Basic Hero Quests are unique to each Hero. Usually they are focused on using a spell/ability “X” amount of times against any enemy Hero; and the last one asks you to play 10 games with your Hero.


Epic Hero Quests

The Epic Hero Quests are not available until you reach level 10, and until your Hero has completed the 3 Basic Hero Quests. These are not unique for each hero. All Heroes must complete the same Epic Hero Quests.
