Auriel Features

Sacred Sweep

Sweep the area with sacred power, dealing 62 damage to enemies and an additional 187 damage to enemies caught in the center.

Cooldown: 8 sec

Ray of Heaven

Consume Auriel's stored energy and heal allied Heroes in the area for the amount of energy consumed.

Cooldown: 4 sec

Detainment Strike

Deal 60 damage to the first enemy Hero hit and knock them back. If they collide with terrain, they are also stunned for 1.25 sec and take an additional 181 damage.

Cooldown: 14 sec

Bestow Hope

Passive: 50% of the damage Auriel deals to Heroes and 5% dealt to non-Heroes is stored as energy.

Bestow and allied Hero with Hope. While they remain near Auriel, damage they deal causes her to gain energy. Auriel can only have Bestow Hope on 1 ally at a time.

Auriel can store up to 525 energy.

Cooldown: 1.5 sec

It is through the archangel Auriel that the power of hope flows into the fabric of creation. Her eternal light illuminates even the darkest souls. Seeking harmony in all things, she is a mediator, a counselor, and when the need arises, a fearless warrior.

Swift SweepIncreases the cast speed of Sacred Sweep by 50%.
Increasing ClarityQuest: Every time Sacred Sweep hits a Hero in the center, increase the center damage by 2, up to 50.

Reward: After hitting 25 Heroes, the center damage bonus is doubled to 150.
Righteous AssaultReduces the cooldown of Sacred Sweep by 3 sec for each enemy Hero hit by its center.
Searing LightRay of Heaven also deals damage to enemies in the area equal to 30% of the energy consumed.
Majestic SpanIncreases the radius of Sacred Sweep by 15%.
Heavy BurdenWhen an enemy Hero is stunned by Detainment Strike, their Movement Speed is slowed by 40% for 3 sec after the stun.
Repeated OffenseQuest: Every time Detainment Strike stuns a Hero, increase the stun damage by 10, up to 60.

Reward: After stunning 6 Heroes, increase the damage by an additional 250.
Glimmer of HopeCollecting a Regeneration Globe reduces the cost of Auriel's next Ray of Heaven by 75%.
Empathic LinkAuriel stores 25% of damage taken by allies with Bestow Hope.
Energized CordIncreases the energy stored from Auriel's Basic Attacks to 110% of the damage against Heroes and 50% of the damage against non-Heroes.

Does not affect Auriel's Bestow Hope ally.
ResurrectChannel on the spirit of a dead ally for 0.5 sec. After a 5 sec delay, they are brought back to life with 50% of their max Health at the location where they died.

Cooldown: 100 sec.
Crystal AegisPlace an allied Hero into Stasis for 2 sec. Upon expiration, Crystal Aegis deals 616 damage to all nearby enemies.

Cooldown: 60 sec.
Blinding FlashEnemies hit by the center area of Sacred Sweep are blinded for 2.25 sec.
Converging ForceEnemies hit by the outer area are pushed slightly toward the center.
Piercing LashDetainment Strike now pierces and hits all enemy Heroes in a line, reducing the cooldown by 2 sec for each Hero hit.
Repelling StrikeEnemies hit by Detainment Strike are knocked back 35% further.
Reservoir of HopeQuest: Each max energy Ray of Heaven Auriel casts increases the max amount of energy that can be stored by 75.
Will of HeavenAllies with Bestow Hope gain 20% Attack Speed.
Wrath of HeavenAllies with Bestow Hope gain 10% Spell Power.
Light SpeedResurrected allies gain 200% increased Movement Speed, decaying over 4 sec. While a resurrected ally remains alive, Resurrect's next cooldown recharges 100% faster.
Diamond ResolveWhen Crystal Aegis expires, it grants the target 50 Armor for 5 sec, reducing damage taken by 50%.
Angelic FlightAfter 2 sec, fly to a target location.

Cooldown: 45 sec.
Shield of HopeActivate to grant all nearby allied Heroes a shield for 3 sec equal to 50% of the amount of Health they are missing.

Gameplay Video (2016)

Swift Sweep allows Auriel to do faster hit-and-run attacks with Sacred Sweep. This is the main generator for her hope resource.

Repeated Offense increases the damage of her Detainment Strike stuns. This ability allows you to knock enemy Heroes against a wall or object to stun them for a few seconds. You should stick to a friendly heavy-DPS player or tank (i.e. Sgt. Hammer, Kerrigan, Cho’gall, Diablo). Stunning the enemy allows your team to secure a kill.

Energized Cord increases the amount of energy Auriel can store, which is good for healing several times in hairy encounters such as defending an objective.

Resurrect can be tricky, but you can bring a friendly DPS or tank hero back to life to continue defending an objective.

Repelling Strike is crucial for unexpected knock backs against a wall for a guaranteed stun. It pushes them 35% further.

Reservoir of Hope further expands your max energy storage capacity.

Angelic Flight is more an utility talent than one that allows you to escape pursuit. Don’t waste it. You are better off mounting up and fleeing after hitting an enemy with Detainment Strike. Angelic Flight takes longer than mounting up, and you might end up getting killed while casting it. Instead, use Angelic Flight in situations where you need a quick heal at the base, and go back to your team using this talent. Or when you respawn, to reach your team quickly, use this ability. In addition, if your team is struggling to kill an enemy hero who is fleeing, you can use Angelic Flight to move ahead of the enemy hero, then swat him back into your team with Detainment Strike. They won’t see that coming.

In this video, I managed to top my team and even the enemy team with 32 assisted kills. For survivability and efficiency you should tag along with heavy-DPS heroes like Greymane, Tracer, Cho’gal, Kerrigan, Illidan, Sgt. Hammer, Butcher, or with tank-heroes. Varies depending your team composition.

Overflowing QuiverWhen a nearby enemy dies, a free Withering Fire is shot. This cannot hit Heroes.
Dreadful WakeHaunting Wave's application of Black Arrow on Minions and Mercenaries increases the duration to 7 sec. Haunting Wave restores 5 Mana per Minion or Mercenary hit.
Mercenary QueenFriendly non-Boss Mercenaries near Sylvanas deal 60% more damage.
Withering BarrageIncrease Withering Fire charges by 1. Charges can be fired 33% faster.
With the WindIncreases Withering Fire's range by 25%.
Lost SoulReduce Shadow Dagger's cooldown by 1.25 sec each time it spreads to a Hero.

Evasive FireWhen an enemy is hit with Withering Fire, gain 10% Movement Speed for 2 sec, stacking up to 30%.
Cold EmbraceShadow Dagger lowers the Armor of the initial enemy by 25 for 2 sec, causing them to take 25% more damage.
Overwhelming AfflictionBlack Arrows now also applies to Heroes, slowing their Movement Speed by 6% for the duration. Stacks up to 5 times.
RemorselessAfter using an Ability, Sylvanas's next Basic Attack within 3 sec deals 40% additional damage.
Defeaning BlastEnemies at the center of Wailing Arrow's explosion take 50% more damage and are silenced for twice as long.
Dark Lady's CallMind Controlled enemies gain 100% Movement Speed for the duration.
Fury of the StormEvery 5 sec, your next Basic Attack will deal an additional 200 damage to the target, and 500 damage to all nearby Minions, Mercenaries, and Monsters.
Bolt of the StormActivate to teleport to a nearby location.

Guide

At Leve 1, Reverberation causes Thunder Clap to reduce Attack Speed by 50 sec for 3 sec. This in turn reduces the amount of damage taken in the lane at the start of the game, which increases survivability. Just be careful of ambushes and especially Zeratul or Nova, or both simultaneously.

Thunder Burn is very helpful against lane minions creating a zone on the ground that explodes 2 seconds later.

Battle Momentum is pretty good reducing ability cooldowns by 0.5 sec on top of Reverberation which reduces attack speed by 50%.

Avatar increases survivability by gaining extra health. It might be best to use it in certain situations like the tribute (Cursed Hollow), shrine (Dragon Shire), and Blackheart’s chest — where there are intensive fights.

Thunder Strike does 300% damage if you hit only one target. Let’s see that in perspective — At level 13, Thunder Clap does 154 damage normally. With this talent, it actually does 462 damage instead. At level 20, Thunder Clap does 210 damage normally. WIth this talent it does 630 damage. Nazeebo for example, has 3590 Health at level 20. Thus, a 630 damage Thunder Clap would be around a 1/5th of his Health. If a single target is fleeing, you can use Dwarf Toss to reach him, then Thunder Clap. The Thunder Burn Talent causes the Thunder Clap to slow by 25% for 2.5 sec, so that you can keep hitting the target.

Stoneform heals for 50% over 8 sec, but Second Wind is disabled. Might be useful along with Avatar.

Lastly, Rewind. Go in with Avatar, and hit Stoneform. Hit Thunder Clap, then Rewind, and Thunder Clap again.That way you reduce enemies Attack Speed by 50% for 6 seconds instead of 3.
