There is no actual backstory or lore for Sergeant Hammer. She has never appeared in any StarCraft video game, novels, manga, comics, nor short stories at the time of this entry.
Sgt. Hammer plays the role of Ranged Specialist. She operates a Terran Tank which can go into Siege Mode to attack distant targets with indiscriminate justice. She can lay spider mines at a short range around her to damage incoming threats, and packs a punch with a short range cannon shot that can knockback her approaching enemies.
Sgt. Hammer can also use the Z key to briefly hover over the ground and move away at high speed using rocket propulsion. A talent can allow Sgt. Hammer to hover and move slowly while in Siege Mode, which comes handy when you wish to reach a nearby target that is out of range.
Description

Sergeant Bama "the Hammer" Kowalski has served some of the toughest tours around the Koprulu sector.
The thunderous roar of her siege tank's shock cannon strikes fear right into the heart of the toughest of warriors... including some of her allies.
Sieges up gaining increased ranged, adding splash damage, and dealing more damage to distant targets.
